Plans for a new kitchen.

Plans for a new kitchen.

If you were 113 years young it might be time for a facelift.

I love the charm of our 1900 Victorian home.

The wide porch wrapping around half the house. But inside is a different matter. I love the 11 foot ceilings, heart pine floors and big rooms. There is no way we could afford to build a house with those today.

It’s just that my kitchen and bathrooms and laundry room (what laundry room?) have only had the bare minimum of updating in 113 years. Mainly because that’s all we could afford.

Until now.

I hope.

See we’ve had a nice architect draw us up some plans. Like for reals.

We are going to start talking to these people called contractors who help you renovate things like kitchens and bathrooms.

And finding space for a  . . . LAUNDRY ROOM.

Though I’m going to miss not having my washer and dryer in the middle of my kitchen so very, very badly.

So wish me luck. And money in the bank.

Have you lived through a remodel?

How about subway tiles in the bathroom?

How exciting, you will do great with the whole process. When ever I am dealing with workmen/contractors I am always extra sweet, offer them baked goods and never complain when they are late. I always get the best deals and they usually show up when they are supposed to because I appear to be a “cruiser”. Of course I am not but I don’t stress them out. Hahaha Can’t wait to watch the progress.

  3. […] I also mentioned that I’ve got a few things going on like a house remodel. […]

  4. […] We had to have a third of our house cleaned out today to prepare for the demo for our renovation adventure. […]

What is a ‘cruiser’? I am unfamiliar with that term.
