Musing once again on hero Rick Spence.

Musing once again on hero Rick Spence.

There’s a person very dear to us in Madison heading up to Duke Medical Center in the morning.

He’s going to meet a doctor who is going to knock this cancer thing out once and for all. K.O. baby.

Rick and his wife Karen are the dynamic duo who helped tutor me in my not-so-spectacular debut into the world of triathlons a few years ago.

They always do much better than me, but there is a group of us who have tons of fun doing such things.

A bunch of us got together this afternoon to send them off with lots of hugs.

We made plans of other races, in the future.

Jeff agreeing to run and wear the tiara.

So till your back in Morgan County this time next week — God speed and all of us are praying.

Can’t wait to be standing with you at the start of some race in near future.

Go get 'um IronRick.

Love you….See you soon.

This made me cry!! I HATE the “C” word more then anything…ever! Hope all goes FANTASTIC for him and that he and his wife are home and running again soon. Praying for a speedy recovery. 🙂

I’ll send up a Florida Gator hat too!!

Thanks Kimberly. They are made of tough stuff. This is a new trial procedure by another Duke doctor. The have been under their care for four years now. We pray this takes it out once and for all. And yeah…those Georgia hats. I’ve gotten used to looking past ’em.

We’ve got to keep beating them….
