Musing on corn.

Musing on corn.

Day 143 at sea with no internet.

This afternoon we hopped down to Perk Avenue for online access. I wrote we because my daughter had to come for her iDevice to function. Wrote a column on this a week or so. Don’t think I posted it here. Life can get so flippin busy.

So to have a little mother daughter silent side-by-side internet time, we headed to downtown Madison.

She is having a brownie and Cherry Coke (Cherry Coke is all the rage at our house) and I am having my standard cup of coffee. Black.

Look at this.

 “It’s corn” you say.

Yes. It is corn I boiled for our lunch.

But the most stupendous part of this corn is that it came from our garden.

The limp corn is was so worried about.

And it was very, very good.

That almost makes no internet bearable.

Got to hop off and do work for 20 minutes till they close.

If I don’t get everything done, just I can go sit in my hot car in the Chick-Fil-A parking lot and hook onto theirs.

That’s not stealing is it?

Don’t tell Burns.

And I’m not wearing shoes.

In fact, I didn’t wear shoes to church.

I might not ever wear shoes again.

  1. Jamie – I would offer our wi-fi, but the lightining got it last week. We replaced the modem -so we have internet through “the wall”, but need to buy a new router for the wi-fi. Such a pain.
