Musing on the Sixth Day before Christmas. I am bride once more.

Musing on the Sixth Day before Christmas. I am bride once more.

Knuckles.

The knuckles are the joints of the fingers and toes, which are brought into prominence when the hand is clenched and a fist is made. (Wikipedia.)

Way back the first of September, I wrote of my most attractive bloated knuckles. (On a related matter, I heard that Playboy is going to have a mid-life women of the SEC bloated knuckle calendar. I won’t qualify since I went to SMU of the SWC ~ may it RIP.)

But here it is almost Christmas and I still haven’t been able to get my 10th and 20th anniversary rings over the left ring finger knuckle.

So I made a coffee date with my friend the jeweler who happens to work at a store in Macon. Ugh.

That meant we had to meet on her day off at Perk.

I handed her the goods.

Heather with my rings.

And then she gave me them back more beautiful than ever.

Don't they look spectacular?

No Silly, those are the sizers.

And here is the tragic part. My ring size had increased by one and a half sizes. Help.

But I finally realized, those knuckles weren’t going down and I wanted to wear my rings.

This shot courtesy of an elderly hand model that was hanging outside my backdoor in need of work. We are drafting an ageism suit against her former employer as you read this.

So in less than a week and less that a week before Christmas I have my wedding rings on again.

Won’t ask if you have bloated knuckles — but will ask if you wear a ring?

Or if you’re not married, will you if you become betrothed?

Your hands still look good to me.

  2. We’ve been married a bit longer than you have — and I also have increased ring sizes. But I haven’t had my ring (a band) resized. I know I will soon because I miss wearing it so much! p.s. when did you change the look of your blog?? I like it!

That’s a good question about when I changed the look of my blog? Not sure. But I think it must have happened when I installed an update. I probably will never have my wedding ring off — it will never go back on. But I’m glad I went to the trouble to get the others resized.
