Naked Nails. The vlog.
My hands used to be one of my loveliest features.
Not anymore.
So that’s why I couldn’t resist attempting a response to Mama Kat’s vlogging prompts this week.

Nail products?
Ahem.
What about you? Any advice for my nails?
I’d say hands and necks give our age away. I’ve given up on hands but not feet either. Not yet anyway!
You are so right Bridget. Thank goodness all manners of scarfs are in right now.
Argh, I will NEVER put my hands on a video. Never have been my best feature and now they are so dry from the Maine winter. Don’t get me started on my nails. The only good thing about the cold is I can wear gloves… now there’s a good hand/nail feature 🙂
Jamie!!!!
it’s morning. I need to start getting ready for work + I feel like death. (From overloading myself.) I watch this video + I feel semi-energized. you are golden! please make more videos!! this was one of the sweetest things I’ve ever seen!! love you!! -Katie
Yes, Julia. Gloves are multipurpose. They provide warmth and cover. My fingers have started the turning-white-as-a-sheet-of-paper thing. And going numb when they get too cold. It’s horrible.
You are so sweet Katie. Too bad you are going to work. You could just come over and sit with a cup of coffee and listen to me talk to myself in person. 🙂
Oh, my hands are a disaster! They are so dry from all the hand washing I do as a mom and also a preschool teacher. I bought a tub of Cetaphil from Costco. It’s been working really well on my eczema, because just to make matters worse, I get eczema on the back of my hands.
I love having my nails painted but it’s so much work to keep it up and after it only lasts about minute so I too am just a naked nail girl.
Ginny Marie, I had a pot of hand cream on my dresser. I should use it but I can’t stand to have lotion-y feeling hands. But you are right, with all the handwashing that goes on in the winter to ward off illness — I should.
Jen, I’ve cut them from my budget now but I used to have pedicures. It was so great. And they’d last a month. The one time I had a manicure — it was about two hours before I messed up a nail. Just can’t do that.
That should go viral.
Completely unqualified to comment, but I recall a woman named Madge with a bowl of Palmolive dishwashing liquid.
Ohhhh, you are so right, my hands age me… I always have my toes painted like you but my hands are always a wreck. Ugh
Xoxo tiff
Okay Dan. I’m old enough to get the Madge reference. That’s why I’ve got the old lady hands problem in the first place.
I loved where you said you were talking to yourself when your son walked in. Haha!
I go with naked nails because they never were a priority for me really.. only special occasions.
I cannot agree more with this! What in the world is wrong with hands that they have to look so olllld? I’ve just recently been noticing this about myself lately and like you I just totally give up. Nail polish is way too much work, but I do enjoy your rings quite a bit. 🙂
Ha. Kat. Looking at my rings and my waving hands. The older I get I’ll probably end up looking like some sideshow fortune teller. Glad to know I’ve got that as a second career.
